Dental Implants

A dental implant is placed when you are missing one or more teeth. An implant is placed by an implant placement-trained doctor (usually an oral surgeon or periodontist) that assesses your bone type and capacity to ensure your body will respond well to an implant. The implant then needs time (usually 3-6 months) to integrate with your bone before your dentist can place a crown on it to restore the tooth.
